That's a lot of bananas.
My Friend Pedro, a 2D bullet-time score-attack action-platformer, is sort of entirely the work of 1 developer: Victor Ågren, also known as Dead Toast entertainment. Publisher Devolver Digital recently declared that his game sold 250,000 units in its 1st week (cross each computer and Switch), therefore Victor's most likely pretty happy about that.
To celebrate, Devolver has placed along with an enthralling video concerning Victor and also the four-and-a-half year journey of My Friend Pedro, that began as a Flash game created for a student project, was put on the back burner when Victor got a job at Media Molecule and finally came out this year. Watch the whole thing embedded below.
Among the nuggets of knowledge the interview reveals is that Pedro, the player's mentor, was nearly a flying gnome, "but bananas are easier to animate" as Victor explains.
