EA Access for PS4 launches July 24

Just in time for Madden 20

EA Access
EA Access will be launched for PlayStation 4 on July 24. For $5 a month, $30 a year, the players on that console can get a library of Electronic Arts games and a discount on microtransactions.

The launch date was announced today. Back in May, the publisher said that the service, previously available for Xbox One and PC (as Origin Access) would come to the PlayStation 4. It originally launched in 2014.

Prices are $4.99 for a single month, $29.99 annually. EA Access provides preview windows of new games, usually beginning the weekend before the launch, though subscribers may now get 10 hours with Anthem and FIFA 19. Trials are coming soon for this fall’s FIFA 20 and Madden NFL 20, which arrives Aug. 2.

The back catalogue for Xbox One subscriber now comprises more than 50 games; the library for EA Access on PlayStation 4 should be smaller, considering that the console does not support backward compatibility on PlayStation 3 as the Xbox One does for Xbox 360.

Current titles available through the EA Access for Xbox One include Battlefield 5, Madden NFL 19, NHL 19, and NBA Live 19. Star Wars: Battlefront 2, EA Sports UFC 3, and Need For Speed Payback also launched in 2017 and are the most recent editions of their series. Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 are also part of the Vault.
